Hey dudez,

Here are some sketches, ideas and designs for the visual language and its hero.
Let me know what you think :)

  1. Hey Tom,

The visual style is good, but it needs some thought I think. For example on itself this statue would be noticed if there weren't any other things standing besides it. But if you put this one in a scenery the green would fade into the background, making it less easy to notice.

Personally I think you shouldn't put to much detail on the rock itself and maybe use a bigger tone difference for the image on it instead. Cause on the rock the details on the rock itself stand out more and are the first thing I notice about them.

You could use these details to guide the eye towards it, by having diagonal lines moving towards the image's eyecatcher (in this case the head).

But that's just small adjustments because the rest is very well thought of. There's not to much detail on the image making it easier to read when you are moving in the boat and maybe have a short moment to notice it.
I think you can do allot of facial expression with these images just by changing the shape of their mouths and eyes as well.

Furthermore you can see that you looked into the orriginal Tiki style of how they made those drawings as well. And this, ofcourse, will be in conjunction with the rest of the design and setting.

(ps WACOM's are coming in tomorrow!!! F%&^ YEAH!)
