Styleguide begin and motivation

Hey guys, here's the begin of the styleguide and most importantly the motivation behind it. It feels like there's a big weight off my chest and that I can finally go develop the style for our ride. Comments are appreciated!

  1. Hey Tom,

    Nice to see that you pinned down the key aspacts of the style guide. Also I would like to add that we need to keep in mind that even if we do set the constraints to this style guide, we must keep a window open for interpretation and adjustments regarding the style guide. For example;

    How are we going to make clear what actions the player must perform trough visuals? The idea we had for the wall paintings is a very good way to tell the player what to do and to give him a hint on what metaphor this resembles. But is it in conjunction with the style guide you want to imply?
    I just want to implicate that we don't have to pin it down exactly and leave some space for interpretation.

    But besides that really nice work. You gave it just the touch it needed and it is in conjunction with the design constraints as well. I think we need to sit down and make actual ingame props to test what would feel right and to test the readability of this style.

    Just one other thing and I understand why you did it in Dutch but next time could you please do it in English? ps google translate works like a charm if you want to convert a large piece of text.

  2. thanks for your comment, Guus. Don't see this styleguide as a constraint, but more as a tool and guide to justify our visual designs and choices. Of course we need some "air" and shabang here and there ;)
